Itoko Toma releases a new solo piano album which forms a pair with her previous album, Beyond the Mountain.

In the summer of 2023, the album was recorded at Studio SALO in Oiso, and each solo piano pieces were played freely by her fingers, guided by the sound of an upright piano meticulously tuned by a piano technician.  The collection of solo piano was inspired by a photo exhibition by Shin Kikuchi, the art director of Schole Records, which was held at the same studio.

Imagine the landscape filled with tones that are gentle as moonlight.  A path where you can almost hear the birds singing, a moonlight ripples on the water, the soft light creating a gentle shadow.  These music reflects the scenery which will gently soothe your soul.  Enjoy listening to the solo piano pieces composed with heartfelt wishes that the morning brings a wonderful day.

Itoko Toma
Pianist, vocalist, and composer.
Since childhood she enjoyed playing piano and singing, and began composing music on her own.
She creates the landscapes and stories with a piano, and has released albums that reflect her unique aesthetic sensibility from Japan and international music labels. Her classical tones and the accessible melodies captivate listeners, and highly acclaimed by musicians, artists, and many others. Also, she has been involved in composing music for commercials and animated films, and is expected to be an up-and-coming composer.
In 2020, she formed the duo "synfilums" with Shin Kikuchi, a representative of the music design production company "SCHOLE INC." and the art director of the music label Schole Records. Then start creating works together with the theme of harmony of visual and sound. The duo has released the second album “ReBorn:ReBirth" (photo book + CD) and an exhibition was held. In spring 2025, released an album “synonym”, a collection of works depicting the four seasons of sakura (cherry blossoms), and received highly acclaim for its beautiful worldview.
